Call for Paper and Symposium Proposals:

Submissions open: now

Early Notification of Submission Acceptance: Starting Nov, 2016

Submissions Closing Date: January 31, 2017

Researchers and scholars are invited to submit individual papers or symposium proposals for the 12th Biennial Conference of the Asian Association of Social Psychology to be held in Albany, Auckland, New Zealand August 26-28, 2017.  Authors are requested to limit their involvement to no more than two presenting roles. This means (1) first authored Individual Paper Presentation or Poster.  Additionally, they may take part as a first author of a paper in a Symposium (see below).

The Conference Theme is “Making a Difference with Social Science”.  We welcome paper and symposia submissions on any topic of relevance to Asian Social Psychology (e.g., from experimental to survey to theoretical research), but are especially interested in submissions with elements of teaching, research, and applied practices (including self-cultivation) that are able to make contributions to the public good.

Symposia Presentations (including invited symposia)

A symposium is defined as a cohesive cluster of research presentations and theoretical perspectives. A symposium should represent at least two different institutions.  Requirements: 1 chair, and either a) 4 paper presentations or b) 3 paper presentations plus 1 discussant may be submitted for this format. If your symposium involves more than 4 presenters, you may create symposia for two sessions with up to 8 presenters.  Submit as Symposium I and Symposium II.

The Chair enters all information for the symposium, and organizes and directs the symposium session, introducing presenters, and ensuring that time limits are observed. The Chair should be prepared to lead, stimulate, and coordinate discussion with the audience. The chair may also present a paper- this counts as a presenting role (authors are limited to 2 presenting roles)- there are up to 4 papers in a symposium.

To ensure consistency in formatting, all proposals are to be submitted via the online abstract submission form.

To submit a proposal visit the conference website (http://auckland.asiansocialpsych.org/) and respond to the Call for Papers.  Follow the appropriate link to the Submissions pages for Papers, Posters, or Symposia.
